Class Format
Classes start with the focus on setting up the body correctly ready for your practice, leading into a small warm up before working through the main moves of the session, then leading into a small cool down and ending in a few moments of quiet relaxation.
Equipment
Classes use a variety of small equipment which will vary from class to class and person to person to both aid and enhance moves. Equipment includes items such as small balls, bands and Pilates Rings.
Main Venue
The Army and Navy venue where classes are predominantly taught is a fully matted floor and wall space set over a raised sprung floor, lending itself extremely well to soft and comfortable mat-based Pilates classes, so although most attendees like to bring their own personal mats for their practice, these don’t need to be bought with you if more convenient to you.
All other equipment used within classes at this location is provided so you don’t need to bring anything with you, but where preferred you are welcome to bring your own.
I also hold some classes at the Beaulieu community centre, please see class schedule for details.
Group Classes
Group Classes are kept fairly small to allow for a more relaxed and personalised experience, Classes are aimed at a complete beginner to an intermediate level with gentle/adapted Pilates options given. everyone will be able to perform moves to different levels with different alterations needed and so I teach varying levels of moves in all classes to support this, allowing everyone to work to their own individual abilities.
Group Classes at the army and navy location are an hour long, with those at Beaulieu community centre slightly under an hour. all classes are taught on a school term time timetable so break for school half terms and main holidays. .
Group classes are generally booked in blocks but pay as you go options are available where space allows.
If you are booked into a block and there are weeks where you are unable to attend your usual session, then you are welcome to attend on a different session within that week at either location, where space allows.
